Island Mountain Arts Celebrates it 40th Anniversary with a
Fundraising Auction Full of Art, Food, Music and Fun!
On Saturday, June 3 at the beautiful College of New Caledonia in Quesnel, BC Island Mountain Arts, the long running arts organization in Wells, BC that is known for its ArtsWells Festival and School of the Arts, presents "Bids, Brews & A BBQ." The night includes a live auction filled with amazing items such as artworks by Toni Onley, Sherrard Grauer, Robert Bateman, Gillian Richards and Edward Epp to name just a few. In addition to the art there are unique items such as a week's stay at a luxury Spanish Villa, tickets to the sold out Tiny Lights Festival in Ymir, BC a Pizza Making Party at the Bread Peddler in Wells, a Yoga Immersion Program for Women with Living Yoga and a white water adventure down the Quesnel River with Big Canyon Rafting. Our auctioneer, Paul Crawford, well known as the enigmatic host of the One Minute Play Festival, will be keeping the night lively with interesting anecdotes about the items and by giving out some special prizes!
Following the auction guests will enjoy a beautiful meal cooked by Quesnel's own Savalas Steak House on the Integris Credit Union Community BBQ, while imbibing in some delicious beer from Barkerville Brewing and some wonderful wine from Bench 1775 in Naramata. And speaking of imbibing, there will be an open bar and appetizers beginning when the doors open at 5:30pm to make sure everyone is ready to throw that bid paddle in the air by 6pm.
Tickets for this one-of-a-kind event are available online or by calling Island Mountain Arts (www.imarts.com, 1-800-4422787, locally at 250-994-3466). Tickets are $35 for members of IMA and $50 for non-members (includes a membership for Island Mountain Arts).
Can't make it to the event or want to see the items up for bid? The bidding has already begun online for many of the auction items. Online bidding closes at midnight on June 2, the night before the live auction. You can leave a proxy bid up to the highest amount you are willing to go on any item.
A huge thank you to all the donors. With all of your support we can ensure that Island Mountain Arts continues to deliver quality arts education and experiences in the Cariboo for at least another forty years!
