Help IMA Help Artists
Feather The Nest - Donate Today!

With three weeks to spare, it was effortless to sink deep into concentration with our work. Any time in Wells is always an immersing experience. The hardest part was driving out of town.
~ Brendan Steele of Red Haven

Help us reach our goal of raising $5000 by the end of the year!

Our first Artists-in-Residence, the band Red Haven recorded their album Vilified at a church in Wells last February.  Your support will help artists like Red Haven to focus on their craft. Providing a productive and financially accessible “Nest” for artists is the goal of IMA’s new Artist-in-Residence program.

Help us "Feather the Nest" by giving a donation to Island Mountain Arts. We are offering some awesome perks for your donation, and all donations over $10 are eligible for a tax receipt (less the value of the perk).

As soon as IMA took possession of its new property in December 2014 we began to promote the use of it to visiting artists. The Artist-In-Residence program is designed to help facilitate and foster the creative, professional and personal objectives of visiting artists. It is intended for, but not limited to, visual artists, filmmakers, curators, musicians, producers, directors, writers, and photographers. Artists also have the opportunity to facilitate outreach programs such as artist talks, concerts, studio visits, workshops, and exhibitions. These activities are intended to promote interaction and professional development, and provide access for the community to a diverse range of artistic practices.

‘The Nest’ provides us the potential to bring at least four artists to Wells each month from September to June. In the summer months the new property provides accommodations for visiting instructors and artists and a staging ground for our festival operations including a shop for building, space for vendors, power and water, green space for festivalgoers and the potential for growing food. It also provides space for building more infrastructure, including studios and more accommodations.

The acquisition of ‘The Nest’ is an exciting and very important step forward for Island Mountain Arts. It also means we have a monthly nut to crack to not only pay the mortgage, but also to provide bursaries to artists, and make necessary improvements to renovate and update this lovely property in downtown Wells. Support “Feather the Nest” by giving a donation to Island Mountain Arts. We are offering some awesome perks for your donation, and all donations are eligible for a tax receipt.

Thank-you for your continued support.
