Code of Conduct

Island Mountain Arts is intent on building inclusive spaces for our staff, contractors, artists, performers and workshop facilitators. Our mandate is to provide a safe, welcome space for artists and program attendees of different gender, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, neurodivergence, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, citizenship status, and/or religion.

Being treated with respect is important to all of us. Respect can be measured by levels of: patience, communication, tolerance, active listening, kindness, trust building, on-going improvement, openness, humility, honesty, voice volume and tone, and non-verbal or body language.

Implementation:

Island Mountain Arts has limited resources to handle conflict, and our capacities vary from day-to-day. If we are unable to resolve conflict, we have the right to respectfully ask for time and space to continue the conversation in a respectful manner. Emergency services will be called to address unsafe or hostile behaviour.

If you feel you have been treated disrespectfully, we encourage you to get in touch with the appropriate parties. IMA’s bullying and harassment policy, as well as incident reporting forms can be found below.
