Give the Gift of Art
Over the last forty-seven years in the tiny town of Wells, BC, Island Mountain Arts has been at the artistic frontier inspiring and empowering generations of Canadian artists.
Monthly Giving
Consider giving an annual or monthly donation to Island Mountain Arts. As a charity, IMA can provide a tax receipt for your support. We would also be honoured to discuss planned giving or bequest options. A planned gift can help you achieve your tax and financial goals, as well as your philanthropic goals, and it can help leave a legacy for years to come.
Your gift could provide direct funding to our programs and operations, establish a scholarship as part of our endowment fund, or help an artist to attend a residency. We are also looking for donations of new or lightly used household items for our new residency, as well as art equipment. Visit imarts.com to donate or call IMA at 1-855-994-3466. Your support is essential to our success.
Ours Caws - Feather the Nest Fund Drive
Though the initial campaign is over and we have now had our new property for almost a year, the project is really just beginning, as we are now tasked with all the new challenges associated with owning our own facility, making improvements, paying off our mortgage and providing bursaries to artists to attend residencies.
With our new property IMA has created an Artist-In-Residence program that operates year round. As soon as IMA took possession of the new property in December 2014 we began to promote the use of it to visiting artists. The Artist-In-Residence program is designed to help facilitate and foster the creative, professional and personal objectives of visiting artists. It is intended for, but not limited to, visual artists, filmmakers, curators, musicians, producers, directors, writers, and photographers. Artists also have the opportunity to facilitate outreach programs such as: artist talks, concerts, studio visits, workshops, and exhibitions. These activities are intended to promote interaction and professional development, and provide access for the community to a diverse range of artistic practices. IMA has already had a number of artists come to do residencies, including the band Red Haven who came to Wells for three weeks in February, 2015 to record their new album. The new building provides us the potential to bring at least four artists to Wells each month from September to June. In the summer months the new property provides accommodations for visiting instructors and artists and a staging ground for our festival operations including a shop for building, space for vendors, power and water, green space for festivalgoers and the potential for growing food. It also provides space for building more infrastructure, including studios and more accommodations.
Help us make this project a success – donate a day or two of the mortgage! We are also looking for sponsors or significant donors for naming opportunities with the building.
