Elyssia Sasaki is an event organizer and producer with a passion for performance, stage design, new-work development, community engagement and collaborative creation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours from York University. Her capacities as a performer, designer, director, improviser, facilitator and production manager have been put to use in installations in Scotiabank Nuit Blanche (Toronto, CA, 2010), the Prague Quadrennial (Prague, CZ, 2011) and World Stage Design (Cardiff, Wales 2013). In 2014, she helped found the Toronto-based theatre collective Raw Matter. From 2016-2020, she resided in Whitehorse, working primarily in arts-presentation and administration for The Yukon Arts Centre, Gwaandak Theatre, Nakai Theatre, The Guild Hall Society, Yukon Film Society (Available Light Film Festival), Yukon Theatre for Young People, Ramshackle Theatre, Yukon Comedy Festival and Music Yukon (BreakOut West 2019). She has been with Island Mountain Arts since October 2020.
