Island Mountain Arts - Call for Board Members
Island Mountain Arts is a charitable, non-profit organization that has been providing artistic experiences for artists of all ages since 1977. Projects of IMA include the renowned Summer School of the Arts, a public art gallery and gift shop, an international harp school, the Toni Onley Artists' Project, and ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art. IMA also hosts community events such as coffee houses and concerts, as well as the Wells Works exhibit of local artists and the Wells School exhibit of artwork by the students of the Wells-Barkerville School.
At IMA we believe that an art-full life is attainable for everyone, and are looking for individuals that share this vision to join our Board of Directors.
We welcome applications from folks who identify with our organization’s vision and mission, and are willing to work with us to shape IMA’s future amidst the rapidly changing arts ecosystem in Wells and beyond!
With ongoing infrastructure projects, growth of year-round and place-based programming, ongoing youth programming and the ArtsWells festival, we are looking to fill at least board vacancies at our next AGM (April 2025).
We welcome applications from folks who identify with our organization’s vision and mission, and are willing to work with us to shape IMA’s future!
Skills we are looking for:
experience with, or an interest in, non-profit finance
a teacher, parent or primary caregiver of a young person, able to offer a perspective on programming and youth policy (we would also interested in having a youth representative on the board/our committees)
a background in human resources
a background in facilities maintenance and management
a passion for the arts and rural spaces
Board terms are 2 years in length, with active committees and monthly meetings that equate to a commitment of about 10 hours per month.
