Art practices based in grass roots community building, access creation and sustainability for under-represented artists. w/ Rae Spoon.

Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: IMA Public Gallery - The Island Mountain Arts Public Gallery is partially accessible, as the venue includes a level entrance or ramp access to enter but lacks an accessible washroom.

This workshop for under-represented* artists from any medium who want to talk about:
·  Creating sustainable, connection-focused art practices.
·  Expanding their artistic outreach to new cities, countries and/or communities.
·  Setting goals and creating work while collaborating with and supporting other under-represented artists.
·  Fostering supportive artistic relationships and arts scenes.
·  Funding art projects from diverse sources.
 
Rae will share some of their artistic history/dreams for the future and lead a generative discussion that highlights information the participants are most interested in.

*Participants self-identify as belonging to 2SLGBTQ, BIPOC, Disabled and/or rural/remote communities.

IMA will provide food and refreshments for this workshop.  Please indicate any dietary restrictions upon registration. We are working to keep the space fragrance-free - please refrain from wearing any scents whilst participating in this workshop.

This workshop is free to attend, with the option to provide a donation. Please let us know if there are any barriers to your participation. Any donations given for this workshop will be used for community care for this workshop, including support for travel.
