Introduction to Birdwatching

  • Wells-Barkerville School Playground 4386 Mildred Ave Wells, BC, V0K 2R0 Canada (map)

When you hear a bird calling "cheeseburger" in the forest, do you wonder what it looks like?  Then this field trip might just be for you.

Join Leila on an evening walk through the Community Forest for an introduction to some of the frequent bird species of Wells. We will travel through wetland, stream and forest habitats and chat about useful tools to assist new birders in getting started with this activity.

Leila's past includes work as a National Park Warden, piano tuner and music festival coordinator.  Currently, she along with her husband run Whisky Jack Cache bakery and are members of the band the Interstellar Jays.  She is by no means an expert but is excited to share her enthusiasm for her feathered friends on what should be a pleasant evening of discussion and information sharing.

It is recommended that you bring along some binoculars if you have them for this workshop, and bug nets if you have a sensitivity to mosquitos.

This workshop is PWYC. Reserve your spot here (you can only book one space at a time): https://islandmountainarts.as.me/?appointmentType=34637567
