Workshop Description
This workshop will focus on the underlying elements of drawing and how we see our environment. From the simplest act of mark-making to the complexity of expressing light and dark with drawing materials, Kristin Krimmel will guide you to a thorough understanding of how you can make your own artwork sing. You will explore different ways to create dynamic compositions, point of view, illusions of space, movement, shapes and form, positive and negative, and more.
There is a short introduction to each concept and plenty of hands-on working with drawing materials.
Things to bring: a drawing board and fold back clips to secure your paper to it, a digital camera, A 9x12 sketchbook.
Shared materials (charcoal, drawing pens, pastels, felt pens, pencils) and some large art papers will be provided.
